XP Cebu International Soccer Club Minutes January 23rd, 2009

Great turn out of players at this months meeting; its good stuff to see so many of the team starting to participate in its operation.

1. Treasury Report
Otto went over the finance report for 2008 which has been posted previously here on the blog. Everybody signed off the report as accurate and true and thanks Otto for his sterling work.
2009 was then covered with Otto making his projections for the year clear this included rental for Metro Sport and the new addition of rental for our Saturday game. An increase to subscriptions was recommended and agreed by those present. Thus quarterly fees for players of both midweek and weekend games will pay P2,000 per quarter whilst Saturday only players will still contribute P1,000 per quarter. Guest players will now pay P150.

2. Unfortunately we have lost the use of the Timex Field on Mactan; everybody understood how disappointing this news was but at the same time voiced great appreciation to Bob and Timex for there support over the last few years. There was not a single person that did not understand the reasoning behind the decision.
Fortunately, with the help of Warren, we have been very lucky in securing the football field at CIS. Both Otto and Tony expressed there deep concern that XP members showed respect for the facility this means: No alcohol, no urinating on the field, no foul language, giving respect to the guards and ground staff. Basically, remember that we cannot afford to loose this opportunity so don’t mess it up for everyone else; this is a great facility and you will enjoy playing football at Cebu best football pitch. Football starts 31st January 3.30pm until 5.30pm. Just as an add on we did also talk about the new pitch at Macro and this can be used as a back-up although will be dependant on availability.
We also covered the topic of Franz junior playing on both the midweek and weekend games and as a group agreed he was a very welcome and positive addition to the game. On a Wednesday he and dad will manage there substitutions.
Lastly Tony will talk with both Timex and CIS about the collection and storage of the small goal mouths.
3. At a previous meeting Rudolf expressed an interest in developing a more competitive team of players that could represent XP in the tournaments and perform to a better level (in terms of results) than recently. This was generally accepted as a positive step and could be operated in conjunction with those players wanting to play more for fun. As such the midweek games have been organized for those players targeted for either competition or fun whilst the weekend games will be captained by Rudolf and Otto (trial) where teams will be selected on equal merit although players must listen to the instructions given by the captain once choose e.g. you will be given a position on the field where its anticipated you will operate.
The captains will organize, control and manage any disputes during the game.
4. Jeremy has taken control of the blog; we will use this tool again in the future to capture team news; please make sure you tell people where they can find information and if they struggle to register that they can contact Jeremy for advice. Jeremy will also be cleaning up the site and has a deadline of the end of February.
5. Panny is committed to registering players with the FA; please help him by supplying your passport pictures and completing the registration document; this is required for future competitions. Franz will investigate entry to the Thirsty Cup and report. Rudolf to captain the open team, Otto to captain the over 35’s.
6. We all passed on our thanks to our wonderful Iranian friends whose time with XP Cebu is close coming to an end (months not weeks); but impressed on everyone the need to canvas for new players. Please make it part of your conversation to speak about football whenever you meet someone new…
In addition Erick will speak with the Sun Star and see if he can negotiate for some free editorial and cheap advertising space.
The meeting ended 9.54pm
