Lacking Kits, Laundry

hi guys
after the springdale match last thursday we lacking the following uniforms:
Shirts: 9, 11, 14
Shorts: 6,8,9,11,14
please return them to the club.

The last 3 matches we played - aboitiz cup and 2x springdale - the uniforms got very dirty because of the muddy pitches. therefore my helper Bernadeth had to HANDWASH them all 2x and some even 3x to get them clean. i ask you guys for a little xmass gift for Bernadeth, she was working very hard to get your dirty kits clean. i will provide a small savingbox and ask you for a token. thank you.

Misc.

hi guys
the rematch yesterday at Springdale was again a very wet event. we won it again 4:2 and there was no danger in loosing the game, we could even play without goalkeeper. after the game we had the most expensive chicken bbq of our life..the springdale guys took almost 6000 peso away from us for some bbq manok and sausages.. additional with the beer and the referee the whole event cost us 8.350 peso ! i think we should not play them anymore.
tomorrow is NO lear match, just normal practice at 4 pm..
about the xmass party..sophia suite is not the right place, they will charge us appr. 6000 peso for renting the place..my idea is now sandtrap...what you think about this...we buy the drinks from them and bring our own food.. we have to book it soon...!
see you tomorrow

Minutes - October 18th

Those present: Horst – President, Otto – Finance Manager, Tony – Secretary, Panni – Vice President and members Nicolas, Pieter, Jordi, Simon, Manolo and Manns

Nets – Franz is still looking to get nets for the goals at Timex

Physical challenges – Players are reminded that for friendly games we ask that you do not make physical challenges on the opposing team. We all enjoy the competitive nature of the games but appreciate an injury free match. We play to have fun and enjoyment.

Dads United – A second game has been organized for 26th October; it is open to everyone but we would appreciate confirmation if you wish to play; please text Horst accordingly. For this match it is the responsibility of XP to purchase the beers (Otto talk to Conor) and food (Horst talk to Dads).

Lear – A game against Lear will be organized for 28th October at the Timex field (Jordi to collate names and forward to Daz). The match is open for all; we will be playing 9 a side and hope to have three teams including Lear. Very important to note we will be starting at 2.30pm

Queen City has asked for a game to be played on a Sunday at their playing field. Jordi will gauge the level of interest for a Sunday game before we commit.

XMAS – The Sophia Suite has been booked for this event; given that we only have P10,000 for this gathering only drink will be paid for by the club. We will be looking at individuals to provide food. The date and organizer will be decided latter.

Budget – There was a recommendation of an increase to the subs for the 2007 season. An increase to P1,000 per quarter (P334 per month) was agreed and P100 per game for guests

Kits – We have agreed to review the XP kit; Manolo will be canvassing opinions and presenting options at the next meeting (Hopefully he might supply some models and have a cat walk at the same time).

Folding Chairs – It was decided not to progress this idea

Captain – It was felt that we should appoint a captain when we play competitive games. This can be done at the time but remember to respect the decision of that nominated player.

Finance – We have P11,933 with P4,500 outstanding

Movements – If you are leaving the country for several weeks please let us know via the Blog, this is purely for information purposes.

Involvement – It was great to see a good turn-out at this monthly meeting which generated some lively discussions. Remember unless you attend your voice will not be heard.

feed back

last night the xp-36ers (simon, riccardo, horst, pieter, mansour, sebastien, otto, manolo, tony, franz, panny) have played an 11-a-side- game against dads united/queen city. despite the heavy rain and some strange referee decisions we were able to win the game 4:2, which was well deserved, since we dominated the game. the goals were scored by franz, seb and 2x panny. after fellowship with matching bbq and a few beers we decided to play each other again in 2 weeks from now, which is thursday, oct. 26th, same venue, same time. then it will be us to take care of food and drinks.

Guys,
here you have the pictures of the Aboitiz Cup. The young guys run so fast that all their pics are out of focus. Next time move slowly. You will loose but will get nice pics, at least.
Cheers
Manolo

misc.

hi guys,

i'm back on track now. my PC had let me down and it took me a while, as always here in phils, to get it repaired.

1.
due to demand i want to inform those who had not played the aboitiz cup or who live abroad or had not been informed about the outcome yet, that both of our teams played again very well and went through the group stage with ease. even though each team did not loose or even concede a single goal, we did not win the cup. again both teams went out on penalty shoot out. the open team only lost after 7 ! penalties to the later finalist 'siliman university' from dumaguete city. the 36 team made it to the final but lost to 'don bosco alumni' on penalties. the local newspaper wrote that don bosco ruled the 36 bracket, which i vehemently deny. we had all the chances to win in regular time.

2.
i already informed the 36ers that we have an invitation from the 'dads united' team to visit them and play a friendly game in springdale school, along gorordo ave., lahug on oct. 12 at 7pm. can everyone please try to come since its not only about soccer but also fellowship with food and beers. later on we will arrange for a 11 a side men's open match in san carlos field in talamban against their team 'queen city'.

3.
i suggest that our next monthly meeting will be held on oct. 18.
agenda so far:
  • buy a second kit of uniforms
  • buy folding chairs
  • discussion: is our practice game too physical ?
if you have something for the agenda please let us know.

4.
darren, i will send you the timex list for the month of october by separate e-mail. can you please see to it that the guards will use it. even though we gave them an actual list for each month, so far they still work with a list that dates back to may 2006 and naturally does not contain the names of the players that are actually playing .

Manila write-up

So guys, here is the write-up for the Manila tournament programme. I hope you have no problems with the commentary. We will be taking a team photo next weekend so maybe it would be a good idea, if possible, to come in your kit. All the best,
XP CEBU INTERNATIONAL SOCCER CLUB – WRITE UP

The XP Cebu International Soccer Club is represented for the second consecutive time here in Manila at the Nomads Tournament. Twelve brave ‘diehards’ have stepped up to the mark and taken the pledge to represent XP Cebu. They are:
Angelo: This 38 year old German is steadfast in defense; what he lacks in speed and agility he makes up with in beef and commitment. Don’t mess with this boy he has ‘made in Germany’ all over him!
Heiko: An honorary member of the team now living and working in Wuhan, China. This German boy has the speed, skill and determination to motivate the whole team. You won’t see Heiko standing still he will be ploughing his way through the field.
Franz: This guy might be the old boy of the team but wow does he have some great touches. Again from the ‘fatherland’ this German wizard can slice the ball through any defense; don’t let that exterior of his fool you!
Otto: The last of our Germans. This guy is carrying a punch; not only can he be a rock in the goal mouth but a magician on the pitch. Multi talented, Otto brings the steadiness to the ship that the team deserve.
Attila: The defeat of England in 1953 by the Hungarians heralded a complete re-think on how football was played in the UK and now this guy will be trying to do the same for this great tournament.
Riccardo: Italian flair and attitude prevalent from this fine footballing genius. This man can run defense or control midfield. A God to the girls and a leader on the field; Riccardo will be a thorn to any team.
Rodolph: You have to love the French for all the passion they bring to the game. Rodolph can turn on a ‘sixpence’. He has silky skills and a finish to boot that would impress any footballing pundit. Give this guy space and regret your marking!
Jerermy: This tall, lean guy from Trinidad & Tobago is a deceiving package. How can he maneuver so quickly and stealthily? Watch as he dances around the field weaving in and out of the opposition.
Jordi: This Spaniard combines the attributes of the French & Italians. He oozes flair, attitude and passion. Don’t give this man an inch; he is deadly and can score from anywhere on the field you cannot help but be impressed by this mans footballing prowess.
Panny: Many of our sporting legends are from Greek ancestry and this guy is no different. A legend within the XP team Panny brings the finest touch and finish to the footballing game that would be at home in any professional team. This guy is hot!
Dazza: English brut strength in the defense. This guy does not take enemies; he does not take his game lightly. Dazza is here to perform and stop the opposition scoring. His goal plan is simple destroy, destroy, destroy!
Tony: The second of the Englishmen; don’t blink because you will miss him! The engine of the team, never stationary, always busy; this guy will harass your defense will worry your midfield and outgun your forwards!

Treasurers Report

Hi Guys
Since we have to pay for the futsal at Metrosport our financial reserves melting away. At the end of the III.Quarter - Sept. 30. - we have cash in hand only 4.333 Peso with an outstanding balance of 3000 Peso from guys i am not shure they show up again.
For the IV.Quarter we will receive an estimate of 13.000 Peso and have payments 4.500 Peso for Metrosport November and December + the beer for the meetings in October, November and December..estimate 4000 Peso. Metrosport for October is fully payed already!
Looking a little ahead into December than it looks dark for our X-mass Party with only around 9.000 Peso in hand.
At our next meeting in October we should talk about this. i ask the members for an additional payment for the IV.Quarter to cover the expected expenses or we make a different approach and everybody bring food for the party and we buy only the drinking stuff.
i am looking forward to your comments.
