hi guys
i was in Moalboal today and talked with Jochen, the captain of the Moalboal Homeboys. They will NOT join us at the Queencity 38 above tournament. This means that we are far from forming at least a team with 11 players. the responce is very lousy, some guys cant even say a simple no..we have only 7 players with a clear yes, therefore i will tell Richard the captain of Queencity that we will not participate.
The match against the Moalboal team is now scheduled for saturday april 22 at our timex field at 4 pm with party afterwards at the yachtclub. jochen will come with around 6 to 8 players so we will mix it a little.
As of today, the end of the first quarter we have 11.688 peso in cash. i received 18.300 peso for 2005 and 2006 fees and 1.500 peso from guestplayer. the takeover from last year was 955 peso. for new balls, first aid kit, goalnets and the beer for the last meeting i spend all in all 9.067 peso.
The payments for the first Quarter came in very properly, there is only 2 fees outstanding. some guys payed already for the second quarter..bravo..
see you tomorrow

Being Dutch
Now guys,
Albert is a nice guy. Its ok, we forgive him for being Dutch even though he thinks that the propaganda he spreads about intelligence is true. Many of us can agree that the Dutch are a harmless lot that enjoy smoking the odd joint or visiting the red-light district. Personaly I have a lot of time for the Dutch and will in particular miss him when he returns home and I think its about time we all appreciated the value the Dutch add to society. In order to achieve this noble gesture I would like to direct you to the following site. Its very informative and gives you a flavour for what the non Dutch are missing:

so please guys above 38...say with a clear yes or no if you will play. Additional i will go to Moalboal this Thuersday and check if some of this guys will join us at this tournament. Dutch and German the brainiest!

Scientific proof of common knowledge! A new European league of 'country averaged' IQ scores, very recently developed by the University of Ulster, has ranked the German and Dutch ahead of all other European countries.
Professor Lynn, who caused controversy last year by claiming that men were more intelligent than women by about five IQ points on average, said that populations in the colder, more challenging environments of Northern Europe had developed larger brains than those in warmer climates further south. The average brain size in Northern and Central Europe is 1,320 cc and in southeast Europe it is 1,312 cc. “The early human beings in northerly areas had to survive during cold winters when there were no plant foods and they were forced to hunt big game,” he said. “The main environmental influence on IQ is diet, and people in southeast Europe would have had less of the proteins, minerals and vitamins provided by meat which are essential for brain development.”
It is for this reason that we all should be incredibly thankful that the management (president, vice-president and treasurer) of our XP Cebu International Soccer Club remains under full Dutch and German control! Moreover, the 0.08 cc difference in brain volume is of course also very visible on the soccer pitch. Just watch the oftentimes brilliant strategic and tactical play by the Dutch and German players. Must be a great honour to play with them!

Panglao Trip
hi guys
when i approached the players yesterday about our panglao trip there was very little interest
about this outing. therefore i didnt receive any downpayment. since its highseason we have to make a booking and a downpayment, otherwise no rooms. so please guys let us know with a clear yes or no, not with a "maybe". so read the blogg about the proposed schedule and give a feedback soon as possible this coming week.
Finally i bougth goalnets...as you could see yesterday. "filipino standardsize"..we have to learn again that the filipino standard is smaller than any other standard....
also bougth a very nice new futsal ball..
see you

- Otto has been instructed, again, to purchase nets for the goals at Timex at a cost of P1,400
- We have a provisional date of April 8th for the Panglao, family trip. Downpayment of P1000, is needed by March 25th.
- Horst has followed-up his approach to the Moalboal team for a game of football here in Cebu. He is targeting March 25th for the game but will confirm latter. We will probably have a BBQ after the game followed by some extra curicular activities. Otto will scout what's available.
- Our Finance Manager informed us that we had P15,920 in the bank.
- Peter has asked for support with bringing over 300 pairs of football boots and shirts from the Netherlands to the Philippines. These will be donated to 'needy' children. We will refer Peter to Mark, Vice Chairman, Cebu FC who we believe will be in a btter position to help.
- There is a 38+ tournament promoted in the Sun Star by Queen City to be held in April. Simon will check-out the legitamcy of this story this weekend and report.
- Vice Chairman Albert is, with a great deal of regret, leaving the Philippines on the completion of his contract. He will be missed. As such we looked for his successor, which after a great deal of heart searching and freedom of the secretary writting the notes (you see the English do have some control) Panny has accepted the position. However, Angelo will maintain the Blog given Panny's limited abilities with technology.
- Albert, leaving in June, will be organising a 'World Cup Betting Syndicate' and will be posting details shortly.
- A name change for the club was mutted with a change from 'soccer' to 'football', but there was not enough interest to drive this through...
- If you get time please give a thought to Jacob who is presently in Chong Hua Hospital, room 709 after badly damaging his knee whilst playing football on Wednesday evening.

- Horst approached the Moalboal team for a game of football here in Cebu and is awaiting a response on available dates.
- Otto commented that Wednesday football at the Shangrala was going well with ten people in attendance.
- The Finance Manager informed us that we had P10,320 in the bank
- A new design of 'figure hugging' football strip in yellow with pink, polkadot spots similar to that of the climbers jersey in the "Tour de France" has been mutted. Your comments appreciated.

Monthly meeting - follow-up
First of all I think it is a brilliant idea to sponsor the meetings through some free beer. Hope it will result in some more active input for the club.
Secondly, we are still awaiting the minutes of the last meeting (Tony, please post them directly on the blog as I and Angelo still try to retrieve the password to our FTP site).
Some additional (to Otto's tournament topic) agenda suggestions:
- Who will take over from me after May? I need e.g. some time to transfer the website stuff.
- Outings to Panglao and Malapasqua, etc.
- Set up of a pool for the World Championship with e.g. daily score card overview in our XP lounge. Who will organize it and how?
Hope to see you all Thursday night!!!!!
